Gosforth Boiler Service, Repairs and Installation

Gosforth Boiler Service, Repairs and Installation from Appollo Gas Services.

Located in Newcastle upon Tyne, Gosforth is one of the oldest areas in the city, dating back to the 12th century. It is home to Gosforth Park and Gosforth Castle, once the seat of the Gosforth family. The town thrived during the Industrial Revolution with industries like textiles and engineering, and it is linked to the Tyne Bridge, a historic landmark.

The origin of the area’s name is thought to have come from ‘Gese Ford’, meaning ‘the ford over the Ouse’, referring to a crossing over the local River Ouse or Ouseburn. However, as it is first recorded as ‘Goseford’ in 1166, others think that the name originates from the Old English ‘Gosaford’, meaning ‘a ford where the geese dwell’.[1] Richard Welford notes that the names of North and South Gosforth come from the north and south of the River Ouse.
